Raven Flight

Raven Flight, (the 2nd book of the Shadowfell trilogy), it picks up at Shadowfell, where the rebels have their encampment. Neryn, as you know, is a Caller, (someone who can control Nature elements), and now she travels with a female warrior, Tali, to find the Guardions of Water and Earth, so she can be taught to use her gift. And that's it, she travels back to Alban seeking the guardians, she finds them and learns how to 'work' with water and earth. This 2nd book has a little more action than the first  and once again it's a poor story, but very well told. Marillier is the master of story telling. Once again the writer 'floods' the readers with feelings, and this time, imo, it's very boring to hear Stones speak about their feelings. I've read all of Marillier's books, and I've noticed the first books she wrote were much better than this laters. The Sevenwaters saga are GREAT, she should have stopped with Child of the Prophecy. The Bridei Chronicles, are Exquisite as they are. Hearts Blood is awesome, Wildwood Dancing and Cibelle's Secret are Amazing, and last but not  at all least, the two MASTER PIECES : Wolfskin and Foxmask, these are the 2 BEST Epic BOOKS I've ever read( I am not including the classics : Gilgamesh, Spartacus, Ben-Hur,Odisseia, Iliade, and so on and on). Shadowfell trilogy is a story for children, obvious adults can read it but I think it is not Marillier's Best, in any way. The 3rd book will be available soon, Caller, where Neryn travels to the North, to meet the White Lady, and learns about the Air element, this really seems Cinderela or Snow White's Tale, anyway is classified as a book for children by her publisher.

AH...Shadowfell was not INVENTED by the writer, Shadowfell is one of the villages of the  Dungeons & Dragons rpg.
